那什么是humble pie呢？
据说，本来有一种食物，叫做umbles pie；umbles就是动物内脏的意思
When rich people had the good parts of the meat to eat, the “umbles” were made into a pie for their servants. As “umbles” pie was eaten by “humble” people, the two words gradually became confused.
当有钱人把动物身上好部位的肉吃了以后呢，umbles动物内脏就被做成派，给家里佣人吃。
因为umbles是给humble people地位低下的人吃的，慢慢的，这俩词就混在一起了。
所以humble pie本来指的是：A pie formerly made from the edible organs of a deer or hog.
