今天我们讲一下什么叫做
one thing leads to another
字面的意思：一件事情导致了另外一件事情的发生。
其实就形容好几件事情，像多米诺骨牌一样，接连发生，一连串地发生；
If one thing leads to another, there is a series of events in which each event was caused by the previous one:
eg: At first, we were just dancing together, but one thing led to another, and I ended up in bed with him.
一开始，我们只是在一起跳舞，但是后来，不知怎么的，接二连三地，我们就同枕共眠了。
eg: You know how it is: you try to make one small improvement to your house, but then one thing leads to another, and you end up repainting the entire first floor.
你知道，事情是这样的：一开始你打算只是稍微给你的房子做个小小的修缮；但是事情一件接一件地发生，你把整个第一层楼都重新粉刷了。
让我想到以前有人举过一个例子，一开始只是想换餐桌的花瓶，结果家里整套装修都全重新弄了一遍。
eg: We were just going to meet for coffee, but one thing led to another and we spent the whole night walking around the city and talking.
我们一开始只是打算见个面喝杯咖啡的，但是后来，非常顺其自然地（进一步接触），最后我们花了整晚在城里压马路，聊天。
eg: He offered me a ride home one night, and, well, one thing led to another and now we’re engaged!
