A talk between India & China
Juju
My Indian friend Moni was born and raised in northern India and moved to the United States 15 years ago. Warm, outgoing, and well-educated, she has always had a great love for languages and cultural exchange.
We first met when Moni and her husband decided to learn Chinese, and I became their Chinese teacher. Over time, our teacher-student relationship grew into a wonderful friendship, and we became friends who could talk about almost anything.
In today’s conversation, we talk about languages and education in India, Moni’s upbringing, and her experiences and feelings about living in the United States. Through Moni’s stories, we also get a closer look at India through the eyes of someone who grew up there.
I hope you enjoy today’s conversation.
