1. This weekend, I went to my friend's housewarming party.

Day 32 · 老板那个早安 | That "Morning"
1. Monday morning, and I slept in.
周一早上, 我睡过头了。
2. I drank way too much at the housewarming last night.
昨晚在朋友家暖房 party 喝太多了。
3. I can't really drink much, but I just love a good drink.
我酒量真不行, 但偏偏就爱喝两口。
4. I threw on some clothes and rushed out the door.
我抓了件衣服, 赶紧冲出门。
5. Just my luck, the elevator was slow.
我这运气, 电梯还特别慢。
6. I snuck into the office, hoping no one would notice.
我悄悄溜进办公室, 希望没人注意到我。
7. Then I saw him. My boss was right by the door.
然后, 我看到他。是我老板, 刚好就站在门口。
8. He looked up and said, "Morning!" Real chill.
他抬头看, 说「早啊」。显得特别随意。
9. I forced a smile and said, "Morning!" back. Just as chill.

10. I sat down at my desk and opened my laptop. My heart was still racing.

4. We were on the lakeside path around the apartment.

5. All of a sudden, I saw a snake right on the path.

6. My neighbors actually keep talking about snakes in the group chat.

7. But I didn't really take it seriously.

8. That snake was about five feet long.

9. My dog and the snake just froze.

10. I stood there watching them. Dead silent.

Day 34 · 这一晚收尾 | What a Way to End the Night
1. Listen, I'm so done with this.

2. So I just got pulled over on my way home.
我刚刚回家路上就被警察拦了.
3. I was driving back from dinner at my friend's place.
我刚从朋友家吃完饭开回来.
4. I came up to this stop sign at the corner.
我开到路口那个 stop sign.
5. And I stopped. I swear, I stopped.
我停了啊, 真的停了.
6. But the cop said I didn't come to a full stop.
但警察说我没有完全停下.
7. I've been in the States for three years now.
我都来美国三年了.
8. And this is the third time. Like, the third!
这都第三次了, 真的第三次!
9. Every single time, it's the middle of the night.
每一次都是大半夜.
10. There's literally no other car on the road.
路上一辆别的车都没有.
11. I mean, you'd see the headlights from a mile away.
真要有车, 你老远就能看到车灯了.
12. Are these cops just trying to hit their quota or what?
这些警察就是想凑业绩吧?
13. And now I owe, like, three hundred bucks.

14. And to make matters worse, my insurance is gonna go up.

15. And the cop even said, "Drive safe, have a good night."
