The decades-long relationship between China and the European Union has not only benefited from hefty economic and trade ties, but also cultural interactions such as in art and classical music. This July, Maestro Zubin Mehta leads the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino back to China. It is highly regarded as a bridge of music between China and Europe. About 30 years ago, Maestro Mehta conducted Puccini's opera Turandot at the Forbidden City in Beijing. In our recent conversation with the legendary maestro, he shares more on his story.
