笔记： improv /ˈɪmprɑːv/n. 即兴 这个词是 improvisation 的缩写，但是口语中 improv 这个缩写会用的更多，表示一次即兴的表演，比如即兴演讲 improv speech，一次临时救场的经历 an improv experience. When I was in junior high school, I was asked to give a two-minute improv speech in English. 有一次在初中，我要用英语即兴演讲两分钟。 blank /blæŋk/ adj. 空白的 词的本意就是指没有东西的、空白的，比如一页空白的纸 a blank page. 一面空白的墙 a blank wall. 也可以用来表示大脑一片空白，什么都想不起来。 Suddenly my mind went blank. 我脑子里突然一片空白。 onosecond /oʊnoʊˈsekənd/ n. 尴尬时刻 这个单词属于网络新词，ono 其实就是 oh, no 的缩写，和后面的 second 连起来组成的一个词，表示意识到尴尬的一瞬间，社死的那一刻。 I spilled coffee on my work laptop at the meeting and lost a lot of data. 笔记： ideal /ˌaɪˈdɪəl/ adj. 理想的，完美的 idea 大家知道是想法、主意，ideal 就是形容词，表示完美的，理想的，是最合适的，比如比尔盖茨和梅琳达曾经是一对完美的模仿夫妻，就可以用这个词组 an ideal couple. This beach is ideal for children. 这个海滩是孩子的理想去处。 She's the ideal candidate for the job. 她是这项工作最合适的人选。 out of the blue 突然地，突如其来地 突然，除了用suddenly, surprisingly, 还可以用这两个词组，out of the blue, out of nowhere. They announced their divorce out of the blue. 他们突然就宣布离婚了。 Suddenly, out of nowhere, she offered me the job. 她突然就给我提供了个工作。

笔记： earworm 洗脑神曲 / 'iәwә:m/ ear 这个单词是“耳朵”的意思，worm 是“虫子”的意思，earworm 直译就是“耳朵虫”，但它实际表达的意思是指的“大脑中不自觉，不受控制地响起阵阵旋律的现象”。A catchy song or tune that runs continually through a person's mind. I have an earworm! That tune from the new car commercial keeps playing in my head. 那支汽车广告曲太洗脑了，一直在我脑海中播放。 The new jingle for our breakfast cereal proves to be an earworm. 早餐卖片的新广告曲一直在我脑海中回响。 duet 二重唱 /djuː'et/ It's a love duet bemoaning the regrets after a breakup. 这是一首爱情二重唱，哀叹分手后的遗憾。 They duetted at the tribute concert. 他们在悼念音乐会上进行了二重唱。

I'm sorry I stood you up, but I had a family emergency last night. 我很抱歉放了你的鸽子，但我昨晚有家里出了紧急情况。 He was supposed to be here at seven, so by seven thirty I began to think that he stood me up. 他应该在七点来的，所以到了七点半，我开始觉得他放我鸽子了。 swindler 骗子 诈骗犯 /'swɪndlə(r)/ Swindle是诈骗行为的意思，在后面加上后缀-er, swindler也就是骗子。 I've been had by that swindler. 我被那个骗子骗了。 It is easy to see who the biggest swindlers are. 很容易看出谁是最大的诈骗者。 swipe 滑 /swaɪp/ Users "swipe right" to like or "swipe left" to dislike other users'. 用户"向右滑 "表示喜欢，"向左滑 "表示不喜欢其用户。 I swiped right, but sadly for me, she swiped left 我向右滑了，但不幸的是，她向左滑了。
