While the lead actress and her sidekick were great, the main character's daughter really stood out to me. She’d been practicing the drums for a long time, but just before going on stage, she backed out. In that moment, her mom, finding her hiding in the closet, says, “If you’re not ready yet, then wait until you are.” We all have our own pace, and whether or not we’re ready to perform depends on where we’re at in that moment. But what many overlook is that what her mom said before that was even more important: “Don’t hide just because you’re afraid to show who you really are.” At that point, Molly was really good at playing the drums. She wanted to try, but still felt a little scared. Earlier, when all her classmates were eager to perform, she told her mom, “I just want to be in the audience.” At that moment, that was her honest feeling, too. She didn’t fully understand the music, but she appreciated the performance. Later, after mastering the drumming, her feelings shifted. She was ready to give it a go. So, with her mom’s encouragement, she took the stage and received a big round of applause. But here’s the twist: the story didn’t go the typical “she fell in love with drumming and became a drummer” route. Instead, Molly decided she wasn’t going to drum anymore. After giving it a try, she realized she actually preferred justbeing a spectator. Molly faced her true self again. She didn’t follow the path others expected; she embraced her own, which really took courage. Life doesn’t always need dramatic plot twists. Embracing your ordinary self takes just as much courage. The takeaway is: Don’t hide from who you really are. Being honest about your feelings—whether it’s about pushing forward or letting go—is growth in itself. 最近看了一部电影叫《好东西》。里面除了女主跟女二很酷，女主的女儿也给我留下了很深的印象。她练了很久的架子鼓，在最后准备上台的那一刻，却退缩了。这时候她妈妈对躲在衣柜里的她说：“如果你还没有准备好，那就等准备好了再上。”是啊，每个人都有自己的节奏，想上还是不想上可能是看此刻的自己有没有准备好。但很多人忽略的是，她的妈妈前面说了更重要的一句话，“不要因为害怕暴露真实的自己，就躲起来。” 其实这时候茉莉已经把架子鼓练得很熟练了，她内心是跃跃欲试的，只是还有一些胆怯。之前当所有同学都想上台表演的时候，她跟妈妈说：“我只想当观众。”这对当时的她来说确实是最真实的状态，不懂音乐但懂欣赏。而在后面的阶段，在她已经掌握了打架子鼓的技术后，她的真实状态其实已经是【想要去尝试了】。所以后来茉莉被妈妈所启发，勇敢地上台了，并收获了一众掌声。可更酷的是，故事并没有往“此后，她爱上了打鼓，并成为了一名女鼓手发展”，而是她转头说，她决定她以后都不打鼓了，因为比起打鼓，在探索之后她发现，她确实更喜欢当观众。所以她也又一次勇敢地面对真实的自己，并没有朝着大家希望她发展的方向发展，而是敢于展现自己的平凡，这一样需要很大的勇气。 生活不需要那么多反转。不要因为害怕暴露真实的自己，就躲起来。只要你敢于面对自己的真实，勇敢承认自己的喜好、选择，哪怕是选择放弃，也是一种成长。

微博@Zoey朱珠 微信公众号：Zoey朱珠 国庆档去看了《万里归途》，看完电影听着王菲的《归途有风》真是对电影里的人物充满敬佩。 《万里归途》是根据真实事件改编的，故事原型是2011年更为惊险的利比亚撤侨事件。 Over a 12-day period in February and March in 2011, China evacuated more than 35,000 Chinese nationals from civil war torn Libya. This is China's largest-scale overseas evacuation since the birth of new China in 1949. 2011年中国帮助35860名中国同胞全部成功撤离战乱中的利比亚，是中国外交史上最大的撤侨行动。 为什么大家看完《万里归途》那么感动？虽然里面没有像美国电影里的超级英雄，但刻画了一个个鲜活而真实的外交英雄。整个片子看到的都是他们的隐忍、为了解决困难想尽办法、如履薄冰。 1. 真实的英雄是利他的，但不代表完全不为己。 其中有一句“面具戴久了，真成你脸了”在影片里出现了三次。 有位哲学家Matshona Dhliwayo说过类似的话：“If you wear a mask for too long, there will come a time when you can not remove it without removing your face.” “面具戴久了，想把它撕了等于把自己的脸也撕了。” 它在电影里出现的第一次是张译演的宗大伟、外交部领事保护中心一等秘书在面对撤侨任务的时候想到家里快出生的孩子和担心自己不能胜任退缩了。 而章宁（中国驻努米亚大使馆一等秘书）选择接下任务。宗大伟怼章宁说“面具戴久了，真成你脸了，”表面上看是说他这么敬业无非是想接班升职，是有目的性的。章宁顺着他的话说自己就是这样。 可事实真如此吗？ 其实作为多年老友，宗大伟也知道章宁不是这种人，这句“面具戴久了，真成你脸了”也带着心疼，是“指责”章宁用看起来贪恋升官的外在形象掩藏自己无私奉献的一面。 A true hero is someone who does something heroic [英雄的həˈroʊɪk] for the benefit of others. But it doesn’t mean that a hero can’t benefit from his or her own heroism [英雄表现 ˈheroʊɪzəm]. Their accomplishment is not primarily for their own benefit. They are altruistic [利他的ˌæltruˈɪstɪk], not self-serving [一心谋私利的]. 真实的英雄是利他的，但不代表完全不为己。 电影里也并没有强调章宁是多么无私的人。他在混乱的努米亚共和国一线坚持工作多年，和妻子因为工作性质常年难碰面，在异国他乡甚至还领养了孩子，做好了持久战的准备。他这样做一方面为了报效祖国，另一方面当然也有自己职业上的规划。也因为这样，你会觉得这个人物很真实。 后来章宁被暴徒射中牺牲，也能看出他是真心热爱着外交官这份事业，在大家都不敢上的时候永远冲在最前线，是最真实的英雄。 Everyone can be a hero, but heroes are not ordinary. Heroes are extraordinary. Only a few can be extraordinary. They’re brave when others cower [退缩]. They’re determined when others quit. 微博@Zoey朱珠 微信公众号：Zoey朱珠 二、英雄光鲜的背后是苦苦求情，绝处逢生。 这些外交官都西装革履，到了努米亚大家都喊他们“领导”，大家也都对宗大伟以前多次成功撤侨的光辉事迹耳熟能详，可看不到的是他们背后的艰辛付出。 当宗大伟一次次去求努米亚边境官放中国人通行，还假冒他师兄套近乎，身份证照片按照边境官的要求规格改了又改，最后还以为敌军真的来了冒死让边境官先走，如此种种艰难，也只是他们日常工作付出很小的一部分。等成功拿下来放行资格，宗大伟大步流星走到门外告诉同胞们“成功了！”能被大家看到的，还是只有看起来光鲜靓丽的“外交官领导”。 Whenever we see a hero, we only see the public glories, never their private sacrifices. Just like we may all fascinate about being successful. We look at the successful people and think that they are living a pretty good life. But we never know that to reach up to that point, they have made a lot of sacrifices that we can’t see. 三、“有时候说谎的人，背负更多。” 这是白婳在劝王俊凯饰演的外交部新人程朗理解宗大伟撒谎的时候说的话。当时宗大伟要带领100多名华人前往另一个城市，他依据自己的判断选择了迪拉特，可他并不确定迪拉特是否真的有救援，这时候他选择了欺骗同胞，只想带他们先走出去。 程朗最开始并不理解，到后来因为宗大伟要带危险系数更高的小分队去找队友、而只能把带100多号人走出去的任务交给程朗的时候，他也才真正明白了宗大伟说的“我的职责就是把100多号人带出去。”这时候活下来比真相重要。 再到后来当宗大伟面临被枪杀危险的时候，程朗举着相机站起来对敌军说：“You can't bury the truth.”你不能够掩盖真相。（“bury”用在这里很形象，把事实“埋起来”，掩盖起来。） 而其实真相是，相机早就没有电了。程朗只是假装在直播。这个勇敢的谎言成功救下了同胞。 真相很重要，但当你清晰自己的职责所在，你就知道哪部分真相更重要。 The truth matters. But since June, more than 80 percent of theaters in China have remained open. Moreover, in July alone, box office totals had already recovered to the same level as last year. What's more, China's summer movie season, which spans three months until the end of August, is a popular time for young people to go to the movies. Big hits, such as "Lighting up the Stars" and "Moon Man," released during the summer holiday, are driving the sector's recovery. Data from ticketing platform Maoyan shows that "Moon Man"generated over 320 million U.S. dollars in the first 14 days after its release. It also broke 20 records, including the highest-grossing science fiction filmduringthe summer holiday and the highest number of showings in Chinese film history on its premiere day. Following "Moon Man's" success, several Chinese filmshavebrought forward their release dates after being delayed due to the pandemic. For example, China's first science fiction mecha movie,"Warriors of Future,"was released seven days earlier than planned. It made over 100 million yuan, about 15 million U.S. dollars, in the first 11 hours after its release. It was the fifth movie to breakthe 100 million yuan mark duringthe summer holiday. Furthermore,"The Fallen Bridge,"starring Wang Junkai and Ma Sichun, was released on Saturday last week, making over 5 million U.S. dollars on the first day. The film accounted for nearly 70 percent of all box office earnings across China that day, beating Moon Man asthe daily top-grossing movie. So, with all these great movies and China's pandemic situation under control, investment bank China International Capital Corporation predicts that China's movie market will recover evenfaster after the summer holiday.
