雅思口语Part 3高分语料 | Being a famous child 年少成名

Cat 🐱🐱🐱🐱 What are the advantages and disadvantages of being a famous child? Oh, I'm really not sure, but I can imagine it's not easy, so I'm sure it comes with its fair share of downsides. The most glaring one is the loss of privacy. Their daily lives are under the public microscope, causing considerable stress and anxiety. Additionally, they may miss out on normal childhood experiences due to a busy schedule and facing the pressure of upholding a certain image from a young age. On the plus side, however, they have access to a wealth of opportunities. They might attend exclusive events and work alongside renowned professionals, which can boost their confidence and pave the way for a successful career. For instance, a child actor could learn acting techniques that might otherwise take years to acquire. Overall, I'm sure it comes with a mixed bag of upsides and downsides. * upsides and downsides:优缺点 * On the plus side:从好的方面来说 * have access to:有机会接触 * exclusive events:独家活动 * renowned professionals:知名专业人士 * boost their confidence:增强他们的信心 * pave the way for:为…… 铺平道路 * drawbacks:缺点 * The most glaring one:最明显的一个 * loss of privacy:隐私丧失 * under the microscope:被审视 * considerable stress and anxiety:相当大的压力和焦虑 * miss out on:错过 * upholding a certain image:维持某种形象 易错单词发音: * exclusive:[ɪkˈskluːsɪv] * renowned:[rɪˈnaʊnd] What can today's children do to become famous? That's a tough question, but I guess the most obvious is that in today's digital era, they can use social media platforms like TikTok to gain fame. By producing creative content such as singing, dancing, or comedy videos, they can go viral if their material stands out. Another approach would be to pursue specialized training in a particular field like sports, music, or academic competitions, which I would say is more of a traditional route for those so inclined to pursue greatness. Participating in high-profile events can put them in the spotlight. Additionally, and related to that traditional approach, would be to enter talent shows, which can provide exposure to a wide audience, and most importantly, to the ever-powerful talent scouts that frequent such events. * gain fame:获得名声 * One popular route:一种流行的途径 * social media platforms:社交媒体平台 * producing creative content:创作有创意的内容 * go viral:走红 * pursue specialized training:进行专项训练 * high-profile events:备受瞩目的活动 * put them in the spotlight:使他们成为焦点 * talent shows:才艺表演节目 * exposure to a wide audience:接触广大观众 易错单词发音: * viral:[ˈvaɪrəl] * profile:[ˈprəʊfaɪl] What can children do with their fame? Haha, again, I'm really not sure as I've never been famous, but the first thing that comes to mind is to save a lot of money. Fame can be fleeting, so ensuring they actually profit from their fame is vitally important for them, or at least it should be I think. Famous children can also use their new-found fame for noble purposes. They can champion positive causes like environmental protection or charity work for underprivileged kids, raising awareness about important issues. Additionally, they can serve as an inspiration to their peers, encouraging them to pursue their dreams with passion and determination. * new-found fame:新获得的名声 * noble purposes:高尚的目的 * champion positive causes:支持积极的事业 * charity work for underprivileged kids:为贫困儿童的慈善工作 * raising awareness:提高意识 * serve as an inspiration:成为一种激励 * pursue their dreams:追求他们的梦想 易错单词发音: * privileged:[ˈprɪvəlɪdʒd] Do people become famous because of their talent? Sure, talent certainly plays a crucial role in achieving fame, but it's not the sole determinant. Many individuals attain short-term fame through viral Internet sensations or association with well-known figures, but just because their talent brings them fame, it then depends on how well they get along with those who actually can have a hand in keeping them famous or not. For long-lasting fame, however, the diligence to continue to develop skills is often essential. As the saying goes, "time stands still for no one", so unless a person is constantly changing and learning, they will quickly fall to the wayside. For example, a singer who shoots to fame with a single hit but lacks real vocal talent may fade into obscurity quickly. * crucial role:关键作用 * attain short-term fame:获得短期名声 * viral internet sensations:网络爆红事件 * association with well-known figures:与知名人物的关联 * long-lasting fame:持久的名声 * diligence to develop skills:培养技能的勤奋 * shoots to fame:迅速成名 * fade into obscurity:逐渐默默无闻 易错单词发音: * crucial:[ˈkruːʃl] * obscurity:[əbˈskjʊərəti] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 顺便打个广告~~ 新鲜出炉: * 《雅思小作文柱状图范文集》 * 《雅思小作文折线图范文集》 Mac👨‍🏫总被问: 雅思小作文怎么提分?

They're so easily accessible, and you can quickly skim through various news items during a short break. o turn to:求助于,转向 o social media apps:社交媒体app • 易错单词发音: o accessible:[əkˈsesəbl],重音在第二个音节。 Is it convenient to read online news? Yeah sure, it's incredibly convenient. I would say in this day and age the news is omnipresent.

Cat 🐱🐱🐱🐱 What is your favorite sport? To be honest, I don't have a favorite sport because I'm terrible at all kinds of sports. I do like exercising in general however, but when it comes tosports, I just can't seem to get into any of them. I have to say though, I once watched a baseball game live at a massive stadium in Texas, and itwas incredibly captivating. But other than that, I prefer walking and hiking, and even cycling, but as for an actual sport, I've never played any except badminton, and I was lousyat it. * favorite sport:最喜欢的运动 * be terrible at:不擅长,在…… What sport did you play when you were younger? It's more my cup of tea. What is the most popular sport in your country? Not quite sure, but I would have tosay it's a toss-up between badminton and ping pong. You can see people playing badminton all over the place, in the park, in residential neighborhoods, and on school campuses. It's a really accessible and a widely-loved sport in my country, but then again, so is ping pong, so I guess it would be one of those two. * all over the place:到处 * residential neighborhoods:居民区 * widely-loved:广受欢迎的 * 易错单词发音:residential:[ˌrezɪˈdenʃl],重音在第三个音节。

Cat 🐱🐱🐱🐱 Have you ever been to a museum? Yes, I have. The latest one I visited was the Asian Civilizations Museum in Singapore, where I went with a schoolmate from Nepal. It was an incredibly enriching experience. Over the years, I've also been to quite a few museums in China. Each visit has been a window into China's rich history, culture, and art. o a window into:一扇了解…… What kind of art is in museums in your country? I actually have not been to many art museums in China, but for art in a history museum, for example, it was produced from previous times, historical art I suppose you could say. Also, though I haven't been, I know you can go to museums that specifically focus on art, and collectively, you can find a diverse range of art forms. Traditional Chinese paintings are a common sight, with their distinctive brushwork to depict landscapes and figures. There are also intricately crafted porcelain pieces, sculptures from different dynasties, and calligraphy works that showcase the beauty of the Chinese language. o a diverse range of:各种各样的 o Traditional Chinese paintings:中国传统绘画 o distinctive brushwork:独特的笔触 o elegant use of colors:色彩的巧妙运用 o intricately crafted:制作精美的 o sculptures:雕塑 o calligraphy works:书法作品 • 易错单词发音: o intricately:[ˈɪntrɪkətli],重音在第一个音节。 Did your parents take you to museums as a child? No, absolutely not. I grew up in a mountainous hamlet, and there simply weren't any museums in the vicinity. Even if there had been, during our leisure time, visiting a museum was not the first thing that came to mind. Instead, we often engaged in activities more attuned to our rural surroundings, like exploring the mountains or fishing in the nearby streams. o mountainous hamlet:山区小村庄 o in the vicinity:在附近 o the first thing that came to mind:首先想到的事 o attuned to:适应;适合 • 易错单词发音: o vicinity:[vɪˈsɪnəti],重音在第二个音节。 Are museums common in your country? Yes, in fact, I would say there must be thousands. China has a vast network of museums, from large national-level institutions to numerous local museums in every province, city, and even some towns. These museums serve as repositories of our rich history, culture, and art, and they are easily accessible to the public, playing a vital role in cultural preservation and public education.

Cat 🐱🐱🐱🐱 1. Do you walk a lot? Absolutely, I do. In fact, I walk so much that I've got visible muscles on my legs now. On workdays, I walk roughly 10 minutes to the metro station, and then another 20 minutes from the station to my workplace. I also go for a stroll after dinner almost every day, and occasionally I'll take a two-hour walk on weekends. So I definitely walk a great deal, and I really enjoy it; it's such a fantastic way to keep fit and stay active. * roughly 大约;大致 * metro station 地铁站 * go for a stroll 去散步 * occasionally 偶尔 * a great deal 大量 * keep fit 保持健康 * stay active 保持活力 2. Did you often go outside to have a walk when you were a child? I did, yes, though most of them were functional in nature than leisurely. When I was a kid, I had to walk 30 to 40 minutes to school every single day, and the same amount of time back home, rain or shine. I also used to walk to the local town with my family on market days to do grocery shopping. As for casual, relaxing walks, there weren't many of those because I was always swamped with homework or farm work, so I barely had any free time to hang around and wander off. * in nature 本质上 * functional 实用 * rain or shine 风雨无阻 * market days 集市日 * do grocery shopping 采购食品杂货 * swamped with 忙于……;被…… 3. Why do people like to walk in parks? I think it's mainly because parks are such a lovely escape from the noise of traffic, the home, work pressure and such and also to walk and talk with friends and family. With all the greenery and plants, they provide cool shade in summer, and everywhere you look is trees and grass instead of buildings. This kind of natural environment is incredibly calming. I think it eases people's stress and gives them a peaceful state of mind, so they can relax far better than walking on a busy city street. To sum it up, I guess it's just the soothing power of nature, really. * greenery 绿植 * cool shade 凉爽的树荫 * eases people's stress 缓解压力 * a peaceful state of mind 平和的心境 * far better 好得多 * walking on a busy city street 在繁忙的城市街道上行走 * To sum it up 总而言之 * soothing 抚慰 * really 确实;说到底 4. Where would you like to take a long walk if you had the chance? If I had the chance, I'd love to take a long walk in the woods. I'm a big fan of being surrounded by nature; it lets me completely forget about all my daily troubles and worries. When I'm there, I can just focus on the walk itself, breathe in the fresh, clean air, and take in the beautiful natural scenery all around me. It has such a wonderful healing effect on both mind and body, and it's the perfect way to unwind fully. * in the woods 在树林里 * a big fan of 非常喜欢 * just focus on 只专注于 * breathe in 吸入 * healing effect 治愈效果 * mind and body 身心 * unwind fully 彻底放松 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 顺便打个广告~~ 新鲜出炉: * 《雅思小作文柱状图范文集》 * 《雅思小作文折线图范文集》 Mac👨‍🏫总被问: 雅思小作文怎么提分?

Cat 🐱🐱🐱🐱 1. What's your favourite animal? My favourite animal is definitely cats, and there are quite a few reasons for that. First off, they’re absolutely adorable, what with their soft, smooth fur that’s such a delight to stroke. They’re also incredibly clean creatures—always grooming themselves, which makes them really low-maintenance pets. What I love most, though, is their unique blend of being affectionate yet independent; they’ll snuggle up with you when they feel like it, but they don’t cling constantly. Plus, they’re the ultimate bed warmers during chilly winter nights, which is such a cozy bonus. I actually have four cats, two of them are from the same litter, the third is their baby, and the fourth was a stray I rescued a few years ago. Over time, they’ve become more than just pets; they’re cherished members of my family. * first off 首先 * such a delight to stroke 摸起来非常舒服 * grooming (动物)自我清洁;梳理毛发 * low-maintenance 省心;无需过多照料 * unique blend of …… 的独特结合 * affectionate 亲昵的 * snuggle up with you 依偎着你 * cling 黏着;依赖 * chilly 寒冷 * cozy 温暖舒适 * stray 流浪的(动物) * cherished members 珍爱的成员 2. Have you ever had a pet before? Yes, I’ve actually been a lifelong animal lover and have kept pets for as long as I can remember. When I was growing up, we had both cats and dogs at home, so I’m used to having furry friends around. For the past several years, I’ve been caring for my four cats, as mentioned before, and each one has a distinct, quirky personality that never fails to amuse me. My ginger cat is a total glutton, as he’ll meow nonstop at dinner time, begging for meat. My other cat is Bubble, a timid little thing who’s quite vocal and has big, expressive eyes that can melt anyone’s heart. Limpy, another one of my cats, is surprisingly routine-oriented, always demanding his special snack every weekend without fail, and it still blows my mind how he seems to know it’s the weekend. And finally, there’s Bobbie, the ultimate introvert or you could say anti-social, so she’s almost invisible around the house. * furry friends 毛茸茸的伙伴(指宠物) * as mentioned before 正如之前提到的 * quirky personality 古怪又有趣的性格 * never fails to amuse me 总能逗我开心 * ginger cat 橘猫 * glutton 贪吃鬼 * timid 胆小的 * vocal 爱叫的;爱发出声音的 * expressive eyes 会说话的眼睛 * melt anyone’s heart 让人心都化了 * routine-oriented 生活很有规律的 * without fail 毫无例外地;必定 * blows my mind 让我感到不可思议 * the ultimate introvert 极度内向的家伙 * anti-social 不合群的 * invisible 几乎看不见的;不显眼的 3. Where do you prefer to keep your pet, indoors or outdoors? My cats are indoor cats only since I live in an apartment. That said, they do scoot out the door to roam the hallway every time I get home, except for the introvert. Every evening, they’ll wait patiently by the front door for me to get home from work. As soon as I unlock it, they’ll dart out into the hallway and hang around for a few minutes, sniffing every nook and cranny and taking a stroll. On sunny days, I also let them lounge on my open-air balcony, where they can soak up the sunlight and watch the world go by. So it’s a nice balance between the safety of indoor living and the enrichment of a little outdoor exploration. * That said 话虽如此 * scoot out the door 溜出门 * roam 闲逛 * dart out 冲出去 * hang around 逗留;闲逛 * sniffing every nook and cranny 嗅遍每个角落 * taking a stroll 散步 * lounge 懒洋洋地躺着 * open-air balcony 露天阳台 * soak up the sunlight 晒太阳 * enrichment 生活丰富感;充实感 4. What is the most popular animal in China? It’s hard to say, but I’d put my money on cats, though dogs are also popular, but cats are easier to keep, and over the last decade, I’d have to say cats have become very popular, particularly, I think, because they are more independent than dogs. You only need to scroll through social media platforms to see how many people, especially younger generations, are sharing photos and videos of their pet cats. At my workplace, for example, almost everyone has at least one cat, and we even have a dedicated chat group where we swap cute cat content. It’s also super common to see people showing off their furry companions on WeChat Moments, posting everything from their cats’ funny mishaps to their adorable napping poses. All these little signs make me think cats have become the most beloved animal in China for a lot of people. * put my money on 我敢打赌;我认为很可能 * easier to keep 更容易饲养 * over the last decade 在过去十年里 * scroll through 浏览 * swap 分享;交换 * showing off 炫耀 * furry companions 毛茸茸的伙伴(指宠物) * funny mishaps 有趣的小意外 * adorable napping poses 可爱的睡姿 * the most beloved 最受喜爱的 * a lot of 许多 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 顺便打个广告~~ 新鲜出炉: * 《雅思小作文柱状图范文集》 * 《雅思小作文折线图范文集》 Mac👨‍🏫总被问: 雅思小作文怎么提分?
