Cat 🐱🐱🐱🐱 1. Do you walk a lot? Absolutely, I do. In fact, I walk so much that I've got visible muscles on my legs now. On workdays, I walk roughly 10 minutes to the metro station, and then another 20 minutes from the station to my workplace. I also go for a stroll after dinner almost every day, and occasionally I'll take a two-hour walk on weekends. So I definitely walk a great deal, and I really enjoy it; it's such a fantastic way to keep fit and stay active. * roughly 大约;大致 * metro station 地铁站 * go for a stroll 去散步 * occasionally 偶尔 * a great deal 大量 * keep fit 保持健康 * stay active 保持活力 2. Did you often go outside to have a walk when you were a child? I did, yes, though most of them were functional in nature than leisurely. When I was a kid, I had to walk 30 to 40 minutes to school every single day, and the same amount of time back home, rain or shine. I also used to walk to the local town with my family on market days to do grocery shopping. As for casual, relaxing walks, there weren't many of those because I was always swamped with homework or farm work, so I barely had any free time to hang around and wander off. * in nature 本质上 * functional 实用 * rain or shine 风雨无阻 * market days 集市日 * do grocery shopping 采购食品杂货 * swamped with 忙于……;被…… 3. Why do people like to walk in parks? I think it's mainly because parks are such a lovely escape from the noise of traffic, the home, work pressure and such and also to walk and talk with friends and family. With all the greenery and plants, they provide cool shade in summer, and everywhere you look is trees and grass instead of buildings. This kind of natural environment is incredibly calming. I think it eases people's stress and gives them a peaceful state of mind, so they can relax far better than walking on a busy city street. To sum it up, I guess it's just the soothing power of nature, really. * greenery 绿植 * cool shade 凉爽的树荫 * eases people's stress 缓解压力 * a peaceful state of mind 平和的心境 * far better 好得多 * walking on a busy city street 在繁忙的城市街道上行走 * To sum it up 总而言之 * soothing 抚慰 * really 确实;说到底 4. Where would you like to take a long walk if you had the chance? If I had the chance, I'd love to take a long walk in the woods. I'm a big fan of being surrounded by nature; it lets me completely forget about all my daily troubles and worries. When I'm there, I can just focus on the walk itself, breathe in the fresh, clean air, and take in the beautiful natural scenery all around me. It has such a wonderful healing effect on both mind and body, and it's the perfect way to unwind fully. * in the woods 在树林里 * a big fan of 非常喜欢 * just focus on 只专注于 * breathe in 吸入 * healing effect 治愈效果 * mind and body 身心 * unwind fully 彻底放松 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 顺便打个广告~~ 新鲜出炉: * 《雅思小作文柱状图范文集》 * 《雅思小作文折线图范文集》 Mac👨‍🏫总被问: 雅思小作文怎么提分?

Cat 🐱🐱🐱🐱 1. What's your favourite animal? My favourite animal is definitely cats, and there are quite a few reasons for that. First off, they’re absolutely adorable, what with their soft, smooth fur that’s such a delight to stroke. They’re also incredibly clean creatures—always grooming themselves, which makes them really low-maintenance pets. What I love most, though, is their unique blend of being affectionate yet independent; they’ll snuggle up with you when they feel like it, but they don’t cling constantly. Plus, they’re the ultimate bed warmers during chilly winter nights, which is such a cozy bonus. I actually have four cats, two of them are from the same litter, the third is their baby, and the fourth was a stray I rescued a few years ago. Over time, they’ve become more than just pets; they’re cherished members of my family. * first off 首先 * such a delight to stroke 摸起来非常舒服 * grooming (动物)自我清洁;梳理毛发 * low-maintenance 省心;无需过多照料 * unique blend of …… 的独特结合 * affectionate 亲昵的 * snuggle up with you 依偎着你 * cling 黏着;依赖 * chilly 寒冷 * cozy 温暖舒适 * stray 流浪的(动物) * cherished members 珍爱的成员 2. Have you ever had a pet before? Yes, I’ve actually been a lifelong animal lover and have kept pets for as long as I can remember. When I was growing up, we had both cats and dogs at home, so I’m used to having furry friends around. For the past several years, I’ve been caring for my four cats, as mentioned before, and each one has a distinct, quirky personality that never fails to amuse me. My ginger cat is a total glutton, as he’ll meow nonstop at dinner time, begging for meat. My other cat is Bubble, a timid little thing who’s quite vocal and has big, expressive eyes that can melt anyone’s heart. Limpy, another one of my cats, is surprisingly routine-oriented, always demanding his special snack every weekend without fail, and it still blows my mind how he seems to know it’s the weekend. And finally, there’s Bobbie, the ultimate introvert or you could say anti-social, so she’s almost invisible around the house. * furry friends 毛茸茸的伙伴(指宠物) * as mentioned before 正如之前提到的 * quirky personality 古怪又有趣的性格 * never fails to amuse me 总能逗我开心 * ginger cat 橘猫 * glutton 贪吃鬼 * timid 胆小的 * vocal 爱叫的;爱发出声音的 * expressive eyes 会说话的眼睛 * melt anyone’s heart 让人心都化了 * routine-oriented 生活很有规律的 * without fail 毫无例外地;必定 * blows my mind 让我感到不可思议 * the ultimate introvert 极度内向的家伙 * anti-social 不合群的 * invisible 几乎看不见的;不显眼的 3. Where do you prefer to keep your pet, indoors or outdoors? My cats are indoor cats only since I live in an apartment. That said, they do scoot out the door to roam the hallway every time I get home, except for the introvert. Every evening, they’ll wait patiently by the front door for me to get home from work. As soon as I unlock it, they’ll dart out into the hallway and hang around for a few minutes, sniffing every nook and cranny and taking a stroll. On sunny days, I also let them lounge on my open-air balcony, where they can soak up the sunlight and watch the world go by. So it’s a nice balance between the safety of indoor living and the enrichment of a little outdoor exploration. * That said 话虽如此 * scoot out the door 溜出门 * roam 闲逛 * dart out 冲出去 * hang around 逗留;闲逛 * sniffing every nook and cranny 嗅遍每个角落 * taking a stroll 散步 * lounge 懒洋洋地躺着 * open-air balcony 露天阳台 * soak up the sunlight 晒太阳 * enrichment 生活丰富感;充实感 4. What is the most popular animal in China? It’s hard to say, but I’d put my money on cats, though dogs are also popular, but cats are easier to keep, and over the last decade, I’d have to say cats have become very popular, particularly, I think, because they are more independent than dogs. You only need to scroll through social media platforms to see how many people, especially younger generations, are sharing photos and videos of their pet cats. At my workplace, for example, almost everyone has at least one cat, and we even have a dedicated chat group where we swap cute cat content. It’s also super common to see people showing off their furry companions on WeChat Moments, posting everything from their cats’ funny mishaps to their adorable napping poses. All these little signs make me think cats have become the most beloved animal in China for a lot of people. * put my money on 我敢打赌;我认为很可能 * easier to keep 更容易饲养 * over the last decade 在过去十年里 * scroll through 浏览 * swap 分享;交换 * showing off 炫耀 * furry companions 毛茸茸的伙伴(指宠物) * funny mishaps 有趣的小意外 * adorable napping poses 可爱的睡姿 * the most beloved 最受喜爱的 * a lot of 许多 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 顺便打个广告~~ 新鲜出炉: * 《雅思小作文柱状图范文集》 * 《雅思小作文折线图范文集》 Mac👨‍🏫总被问: 雅思小作文怎么提分?

Cat 🐱🐱🐱🐱 Talk about an early morning when you did a lot. You should say: * When it was * What you did * How you felt after The early morning I'd like to talkabout was last Friday, one of those rare days where I managed to cram in so much before heading to work. I woke up naturally at 6 o'clock and as soon as I got out of bed, I hopped into the shower to wake myself up properly. Then I headed to the kitchen to boil a corn and brewed a cup of coffee for breakfast. While the corn was cooking, I did one of my daily morning routines: cleaning the cat litter and refilling my cats' food and water bowls. Afterbreakfast, I flipped through a couple of pages of the book I've been reading lately. And finally, before leaving the house,I took the garbage out to the bin in the basement floor on my way to work. What surprised me most was how great I felt afterward. Normally, I'm someone who hits the snoozebutton a few times and rushes through the morning, but that day, having a solid night's sleep made me feel well rested and way moreprepared for the workday ahead. Now I'm trying to stick to that early bedtime and morning routine more often because there's no betterfeeling than starting the day on the right foot. * managed to cram in so much 设法挤着做了很多事 * heading to work 去上班 * woke up naturally 自然醒 * got out of bed 起床 * hopped into the shower 冲进淋浴间 * wake myself up properly 彻底醒过来 * headed to 前往 * brewed a cup of coffee 煮了一杯咖啡 * morning routines 晨间日常 * cleaning the cat litter 清理猫砂 * flipped through 快速翻阅 * on my way to work 上班路上 * hits the snooze button 按贪睡键 * rushes through the morning 匆忙应付早晨 * having a solid night's sleep 睡了个安稳觉 * feel well rested 感觉休息充分 * workday ahead 接下来的工作日 * stick to 坚持 * early bedtime 早睡 * on the right foot 顺利地(开启一天) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 顺便打个广告~~ 新鲜出炉: * 《雅思小作文柱状图范文集》 * 《雅思小作文折线图范文集》 Mac👨‍🏫总被问: 雅思小作文怎么提分?

Cat 🐱🐱🐱🐱 Describe a movie that you like. You should say: * When you watched it * What it was about * And explain why you like it The movie I'd like to talk about is Letters to Juliet, a heartfelt romantic comedy that I fell in love with. I watched it just last weekend; however, I first watched this movie over 10 years ago. The plot centers around Sophie, a fact-checker for a major New York newspaper who's passionate about storytelling but feels stuck in her career. When she travels to Verona, Italy, famous as the setting of Romeo and Juliet, she stumbles upon a wall where people leave letters asking for love advice, which a group of local women, known as "Juliet's secretaries", respond to. Sophie finds an old, unanswered letter written decades earlier by a British woman named Claire, who'd been torn between her first love and her family. Moved by Claire's story, Sophie writes back, and to her surprise, the now-elderly Claire arrives in Verona with her grandson Charlie. What follows is a road trip across Italy as the trio search for Claire's long-lost love, and along the way, Sophie and Charlie find themselves drawn to each other. What I like most about this film is how it beautifully captures true love. It shows that love is built on chemistry, understanding, and persistence. There's a question phrase from the movie that stuck with me: What if? For me, it's a powerful reminder to stop overthinking and take a leap of faith—whether in love or in life—so we don't live with regret. Beyond the romantic elements, the movie's stunning Italian landscapes also make it such a joy to watch. And that's why it has become one of my favorite movies. * heartfelt 真挚的 * romantic comedy 爱情喜剧 * The plot centers around 剧情围绕…… 展开 * fact-checker 事实核查员 * storytelling 叙事;讲故事 * feels stuck 感到停滞不前 * the setting of …… 的故事发生地 * stumbles upon 偶然发现 * respond to 回复 * decades earlier 十多年前 * torn between 在…… 之间纠结 * the now-elderly 如今已是老年的 * trio 三人组 * long-lost love 失散已久的爱人 * drawn to each other 彼此吸引 * captures 捕捉;展现 * chemistry(情感上的)默契;化学反应 * persistence 坚持 * stuck with me 让我印象深刻 * reminder 提醒 * take a leap of faith 勇敢一搏 * romantic elements 爱情元素 * landscapes 风景 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 顺便打个广告~~ 新鲜出炉: * 《雅思小作文柱状图范文集》 * 《雅思小作文折线图范文集》 Mac👨‍🏫总被问: 雅思小作文怎么提分?

Cat 🐱🐱🐱🐱 Talk about a food that you tried and didn't like. Include: * What it was * Why you didn't like it * If you will try it again The food I'd like to talk about is bullfrog, also known as 'field chicken' in some Chinese contexts, a dish I tried once but absolutely didn't enjoy. It happened a few weeks ago when I was eating out with a close friend in downtown Guangzhou. She ordered the bullfrog and before I could even react, she’d picked a piece and put it in my bowl. I couldn't really refuse, even though I felt hesitant. To be honest, the taste itself wasn't the problem. It actually had a texture similar to chicken and that's probably why it's called 'field chicken' in Chinese. But the issue was purely psychological: as soon as I remembered I was eating a frog, I felt it was incredibly weird. Frogs are creatures I associate with ponds and rice fields…they’re small, slimy, green or brown little animals, not human food! No matter how much I tried to focus on the flavor, I couldn't shake off the mental image of a frog, and that made every bite feel uncomfortable. My brain just couldn't accept that this was something I should be eating. Would I try it again? Definitely not, for me, trying bullfrog was a one-time experience. I'm pretty conservative when it comes to meat, as I prefer to stick to mainstream options like pork, chicken, beef, fish, and duck. Those are the foods I grew up with and they feel 'safe' to me. Looking back, I think it's interesting how our perceptions of food are so deeply shaped by what we're used to. For my friend, bullfrog is a delicious dish, but for me, it's just… a frog. And no matter how much it tastes like chicken, I can't get past that. So yeah, that’s the one food I tried and definitely won't be having again! * bullfrog 牛蛙 * field chicken 田鸡 * in some contexts 在一些语境里 * downtown Guangzhou 广州市区 * react 反应 * picked a piece 夹了一块 * bowl 碗 * refuse 拒绝 * felt hesitant 感到犹豫 * had a texture similar to 口感类似于 * and that's probably why 这可能就是为什么 * issue was purely psychological 问题纯粹是心理上的 * incredibly weird 非常奇怪 * creatures 生物 * I associate with 会联想到 * rice fields 稻田 * flavor 味道 * shake off 摆脱 * the mental image 心理上的画面 * every bite 每一口 * a one-time experience 一次体验 * pretty conservative 相当保守 * stick to mainstream options 坚持主流选择 * our perceptions of food 我们对食物的看法 * so deeply shaped by 被……

Cat 🐱🐱🐱🐱 1. Do you prefer to drink coffee or tea? I'd say I'm more of a coffee person. It helps me stay awake and focus better in the morning, something I really need, actually, to kick off my day. I drink tea too, but only in social situations, like when I'm having a big dinner with family or catching up with friends. That being said, I probably drink either on any given day. * more of a coffee person 更爱喝咖啡的人 * kick off my day 开启我的一天 * social situations 社交场合 * catching up with friends 和朋友叙旧 * That being said 话虽如此 * either (两者中的)任何一个 * any given day 任何一天 2. How do you like to drink coffee? It depends on where I am. If I'm making it at home, I'll usually have a milky coffee, just to take the edge off the bitterness of the coffee. But if I’m ordering at a café, I always go for my favorite: iced mocha. No matter which cafe or where I am, that's my go-to; I never really stray from it. * milky coffee 加奶咖啡 * take the edge off the bitterness of the coffee 缓解咖啡的苦味 * iced mocha 冰摩卡 * go-to 首选 * stray from 偏离 3. Is coffee a popular drink in your country? Increasingly, yes, it is. It’s pretty popular among the younger generation. You see cafes popping up everywhere, especially in big cities. Young people love hanging out there, with some going to study, others working on their laptops, and a lot just to meet up with friends over a cup of coffee. They've become a really common spot for people to spend time. * Increasingly 越来越多地;日益 * popping up everywhere 随处涌现 * hanging out 闲逛;泡(在某地) * over a cup of coffee 边喝咖啡 * common spot 常见场所 4. When was the last time you had some coffee? Let me think…it was last week. I made myself a cup right before leaving for work. I was feeling a bit groggy that morning, so I wanted something to wake me up fully and get me ready for the day ahead.
