From the traditional farming-and-weaving lifestyle to ancient emperors personally farming to show their respect for agriculture, growing vegetables has long been ingrained in Chinese culture.

With the land being the most solid refuge for the Chinese people, a deeper reason lies in the Chinese nation's spirit of self-reliance and perseverance.

As Yuan Longping said, a single grain of rice can save a country or it can trip a country.

The Chinese people firmly believe in the principle of 'man can conquer nature' and that the rice bowl should always be firmly in their own hands.
