那什么叫做clean the slate？
slate本意是岩石；石板；
用很容易擦掉的粉笔在石板上写字。clean the slate就是把过去记录的统统擦掉，去除这个意思。

干干净净的记录，没有前科，没有违规记录
a record of your work or actions that does not show any mistakes or bad things that you have done:
