AEE 2286: Don't Squabble About English Vocabulary
1. squabble v. (为琐事)发生口角,大声争吵
loud noisy argument, not a great thing.
eg, they're squabbling and fighting at the store.
2. bicker v. (为小事)斗嘴
can be very quiet, argue for something doesn't matter especially for children .
eg, my children always bicker about who gets the remote control.
stop bickering , that's not important .
3. petty adj. 不重要的,琐碎的,小的;小气的,小心眼的;次要的,职位低的;(罪行)轻微的
petty argument / petty person
4. trivia 琐事
5. quarrel vi. 吵架;争论;挑剔
something more serious/important, little more intense .like argue but less common to use, sounds like formal way .
eg, i often quarrel with my children about roles and behaviour .

7. escalate v. (使)变得严重,(使)升级;迅速增加,迅速增长;逐步增强,逐步升高
