此时节，江河冰封，万籁俱寂。
By now, rivers and lakes have frozen over, and everything is quiet.
墙角的梅花开出第一缕暗香。
The first hint of plum blossoms wafts out from the corner of a wall.
北方的孩童，蹲坐在自制的冰橇上。
In the north, kids crouch on homemade ice sleds.
有人轻轻一推，欢笑声便随风荡漾开去。

Down south, people gather around the fire brewing a pot of hot tea.

小寒至，年味也愈发浓了。
