count on sb./sth.

以往我们也见过，不过之前比较常见的都是表示：
1. 依赖；依靠；
rely on sb. or sth.

eg: You can count on me.
你可以依赖我。我靠得住。

eg: Can I count on you to do the job?
我能信赖你，让你去完成这份工作吗？

eg: We can count on Bill to get the job done.
我们可以给予Bill信任，他会完成任务的。
我们可以充分信赖Bill，他会完成任务的。

eg: I can always count on my sister to cheer me up after a tough day.
在熬过艰难的一天之后，我总可以指望我姐姐让我开心起来。


但是今天我们学习另外一个用法：
count on sth.
2. 可以用来指：expect or anticipate sth.
指望、期盼某件事情的发生；

eg: We are counting on a great vacation this summer.
我们期待着今年夏天可以度过一个很棒的假期。

eg: I hope you weren't counting on a Christmas bonus because I don't think we're getting them this year.
我希望你们并没有指望着能拿圣诞节奖金，因为我觉得咱们今年不会发这个钱了。


eg: I was counting on getting a raise when I made the decision to purchase a house.
