或者to give someone a ride to some place

那再来学习另外一个短语：
emerge from
emerge这个单词本来有appear出现的意思，所以emerge from可以理解成：从一个隐蔽的地方出来；从……后面出现；
to appear by coming out of something or out from behind something
或者to come out of a dark, enclosed or hidden place

eg: She emerged from the sea, blue with cold.
她浮出了海面，浑身冻得发青。

eg: She emerged from behind the curtain as a beautiful princess in full costume.
她从幕后出现，化身为一个盛装打扮的漂亮的公主。

eg: The caterpillar would emerge as a butterfly in a short time.
这只毛毛虫将会很快变成一只蝴蝶。

其实这个短语emerge from
在口语中也有引申义：
to stop being involved in a difficult situation or period of time
从某种困境中脱离出来
