今天我们先来复习一个简短的口语表达，叫做：stand by
之前我们在学习Desperate Housewives S1E19的时候就讲过这个短语，是在903期节目中。
stand by可以用来表示：
准备好；准备就位；时刻准备着，有需要就行动（或给予帮助）；
wait and remain ready
或者
remain prepared or ready to act in some way

eg: Is everyone ready for the live stream? Only ten seconds—stand by.
直播每个人都准备好了吗？只剩10秒了，准备就位。

stand by还有“袖手旁观”的意思；
be present but remain uninvolved, refrain from acting

eg: We can't stand by while millions of people starve.
我们不能在这啥也不做，眼看着上百万的人饿死吧？

好，复习了stand by的用法之后，我们来讲另外一个俚语：
What’s done is done!
就相当于汉语中的“木已成舟”，或者“生米已经煮成熟饭”。意思事情没有更改的余地了。
There's no use worrying or stressing about something that has already happened or come to pass.

eg: I know this isn't the outcome we wanted, but what's done is done, so let's just try to make the most of a bad situation.
我知道这不是我们想要的结果，但是木已成舟，我们尽量从这个糟糕的情况中得到可能的最好结果吧。

eg: I'm really disappointed in what you did, but what's done is done—let's just forget about it now.
