From March to July 2026, I participated in a leadership development programme. When I first enrolled, I had a very simple question. What does a leader look like?
In my mind, leadership belonged to people with titles—managers, CEOs, professors, directors —who were already in positions of authority. But after six workshops and four months of reflection, I realized something unexpected.
I had been asking the wrong question.mThe question was never, "How do leaders behave?". The better question was, "Who am I becoming?". Because leadership isn't something you suddenly receive when someone gives you a title.
Leadership is built long before anyone calls you a leader. Today I'd like to share six lessons that completely changed how I understand leadership.
