be stood up 被放鸽子

To fail to meet someone for a date, meeting, or appointment, especially without telling them. 

I'm sorry I stood you up, but I had a family emergency last night.

我很抱歉放了你的鸽子，但我昨晚有家里出了紧急情况。

He was supposed to be here at seven, so by seven thirty I began to think that he stood me up.

他应该在七点来的，所以到了七点半，我开始觉得他放我鸽子了。

swindler 骗子 诈骗犯 /'swɪndlə(r)/

Swindle是诈骗行为的意思，在后面加上后缀-er, swindler也就是骗子。

I've been had by that swindler.

我被那个骗子骗了。

It is easy to see who the biggest swindlers are.

很容易看出谁是最大的诈骗者。

swipe 滑 /swaɪp/

Users "swipe right" to like or "swipe left" to dislike other users'. 

用户"向右滑 "表示喜欢，"向左滑 "表示不喜欢其用户。
