Blend Inn(原纵横Say Hi)
Happy Belated Chinese New Year, everyone. Key Phrases (地道短语)Love shifted from duty to desire. A season of longing. Standard equipment (標配). A staple of Valentine’s Day 或 Standard practice. A world where love was regulated. 3. Cultural Nuggets (文化要点)The Origin (起源): It traces back to St. Valentine, a priest in the 3rd century Roman Empire who secretly performed marriages for soldiers, defying the Emperor's ban.(起源于3世纪,瓦伦丁神父违反禁令,秘密为士兵证婚。)The Shift (转折): The medieval poet Geoffrey Chaucer helped link the day to romance and "bird-pairing."(中世纪诗人乔叟将此日与浪漫和鸟类配对联系在一起。)Modern Commercialization (现代商业化): Companies like Hallmark turned emotions into products. Romance became something you could buy, wrap, and present.(像Hallmark这样的公司将情感商品化,浪漫变成了可以购买、包装和赠送的东西。)4. Reflective Sentences (深度思考/写作句型)Use these to practice your English speaking or writing:"Valentine’s Day slowly shifted from choosing love to proving it."(情人节慢慢从“选择爱”变成了“证明爱”。)"In a consumer culture, proof is often measured in spending."(在消费主义文化中,证明通常是用消费来衡量的。)"Love has always existed somewhere between sacrifice and celebration."(爱一直存在于牺牲与庆典之间的某个地方。)
