Vicky Cristina Barcelona is about two girlfriends on a summer holiday in Barcelona, Spain. They both had a crush on or fell in love with the same painter, Antonio. Vicky had no tolerance for pain and no lust for combat. She was grounded and realistic. Her requirements in a man were seriousness and stability. She had become engaged to Doug because he was decent and successful and understood the beauty of commitment... Cristina, on the other hand, expected something very different out of love. She had reluctantly accepted suffering as an inevitable component of deep passion, and was resigned to putting her feelings at risk. 而画家Antonio刚和互相家暴的妻子离婚,他认为“life is too short. Meaningless. Life is dull, life is full of pain. So why don’t you live in the moment?” Oviedo。He said that “we'll spend the weekend. I'll show you around the city, and we'll eat well. We'll drink good wine. We'll make love. Hopefully the three of us.” I think that you're still hurting from the failure of your marriage to Maria Elena, and you're trying to lose yourself in empty sex. 而一向寻求刺激的Cristina虽然总说:“I don't know what I want, but I know what I don't want.”“我不知道自己想要什么,但我知道我不想要什么。” 就像电影里Antonio的诗人父亲说他为什么一直厌恶这个世界,因为“After thousands of years of civilization, humansstill haven't learnt to love.” Vicky returned home to have her grand wedding to Doug. To the house they finally planned to settle in. And to lead the life she envisioned for herself, before that summer in Barcelona. Cristina continued searching... certain only, of what she didn't want.

We’re now here in Chongqing, a magical city. It is well-known for being a movie shooting location. Youth, fantasy, adventure.. you name it. Too many types of movie projects have taken place here. Those famous ones include the Better Days, I Belonged to You, Crazy Stone, Chongqing Hotpot... Back in 2019 before the pandemic, there were more than 200 movie crews shooting herea year. So why is Chongqing known as a “magical city” and has become a magnet for the country’s movie and TV production talent? Let’s go check it out today. Action! First of all, Chongqing is built on mountains, so it has a very complex mountainous terrain with urban constructions. This creates a very special landscape. For example, here we’re at the Kuixing Building. While you’re walking here, you may feel like you’re walking on a normal ground. But if you look down, we’re now at almost 70 meters above the ground. This is where the Better Days was shot. You can see there are two overline bridges crossing between the Kuixing square and a 22-floor office building! Can you believe this? Without these bridges, it used to take people about 20 minutes to walk from the Jiabin Road to here. So it is much more convenient now, just that if you’re brave enough to challenge its height. Well, you may still be shocked by the Kuixing building, but you may be even more surprised when you see this. The rail is passing through the residential buildings! Here we’re now at the Liziba subway station. This place is a scene in the film Chongqing Hotpot. The light way is passing through the 8th floor of the residential buildings. Some people are living above the light rail, while many are doing business beneath it. But thanks to the advanced technologies, the train’s shock is absorbed and the noise levels reduced so that they don’t disturbthe residents. With grass and trees, the views nearby are also wonderful, which transport you to a fictional future. Besides those futuristic scenes, Chongqing is also a place that mixes well the traditional buildings with modern constructions. As you can see the sky has turneddark, but it is a perfect time to visit the special Hongya Cave right behind me. It has a history of over 2,300 years and was one of the earliest and most developed piers of ancient China. But after1949, with the declining of the pier, Hongya Cave degraded into a slum and the traditional stilt houseswere deemed unsafe structures. Later in 1993, when the Jiabin Road was built, the residents here were relocated. And from 2002 to 2006, this area was re-constructed and turned into this picturesque commercial area with very amazing views. It is now a popular destination for visitors to experience the Chongqing culture, to gaze over the river, and taste delicious food. The night view here is stunning. Many people say it looks like the scenes in the Japanese movie Spirited Away. The movie I Belonged to You was also filmed here. With these amazing sights and sounds, no wonder Chongqing is apopularlocation for movie projects. At the same time, these motion pictures have helped visualized the magical Chongqing to the audiences. Chongqing is no longer only remembered as amountainous city, but also a multi-dimensionalcity with charms.

[Zoey

HeyTea. Genki Forest. Perfect Diary. (will show products) Most Chinese people are familiar with these brands. In the past, Chinese market was dominated by Western brands such as Coca-Cola, Maybelline and Nestle. But now, Chinese start-ups have joined the competition with these established companies. During China’s second-largest e-commerce festival, the“618”,in June, local brand Babycare outpaced Pampers of the U.S.’s Procter & Gamblein terms of sales. During China’s biggest online shopping festival “Singles’ Day” last year, another homegrown beverage maker, Genki Forest, overtook Coca-Cola and Pepsi in sales. Chinese cosmetic brand Perfect Diary also surpassed Maybelline and Estee Lauder in the same event. So how did local brands win over the consumers’ hearts? According to a report from the Financial Times, much of their recent success has to do with hefty investments in marketing, particularly on social media. Marketing accounts for nearly 60 percent of the spending of Chinese consumer start-ups, compared with 15to25 percent for foreign brands in China. Chinese younger generation, especially Generation Z, roughlythose born between 1995 and 2009, is the major buying power of these rising brands. They have their own habits of shopping online. For example, when buying a lipstick, they may first watch beauty bloggers’ reviews on social media platforms such as Xiaohongshu, Zhihu, and Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, before finally making a purchase. So Chinese influencers are boosting the sales of domestic brands. Some have a huge fanbase, such as Viya, and“Lipstick King”Li Jiaqi. Both of them have tens of millions of followers, and canmake a product sell out in seconds. For so-called “Micro-influencers”, those who have a smaller fan base of fewer than 10,000, are also an important group for brand marketing. Many companies are giving them free products or small payments for brand promotions. Another effective way to promote a brand here is via group chats on messaging platform WeChat, where one group is limited to 500 users. This allows brands to interact with their customers in a more intimate setting. With sales surging, these domestic brands have been attracting growing capital attention in recent years. For example, it took Perfect Diary only four years to go for an IPO. Genki Forest was valued at 6 billion U.S. dollars in its latest round of financing in March -- tripled its figure in only one year. But as the popular saying goes, only when the tide fades, will we know who is swimming naked. The high tide is a key period for Chinese local brands to strengthen their competitiveness and maintain their targeted audience, to eventually become established players in the long run.

The Father centers an 80 year-old man who struggles with aging. He hasn’t noticed how ill he is so he refuses all assistance from his daughter and starts to doubt his loved ones, his own mind, and even the fabric of his reality. I can manage very well on my own. I don’t need any help. Anthony asks Annmany times, “Where is she, by the way? Have you heard from her?” He once said to Ann, You’ve always been that way. A worrier. Whereas your sister...she’s an artist. When Ann’s husband tells Anthony that his daughter has already done the best she can do to help him. Anthony murmurs, “Oh, the best she can. The best she can, yeah. I never asked her for anything. I don’t know what she’s cooking up against me, but she’s cooking something up. She’s cooking something up, that I do know.” Anthony bursts into tears at his caring home at the end. He says, I feel as if I’m losing all my leaves. The branches, and the wind, and the rain. I don’t know what’s happening anymore. All this business about the flat. I... I have nowhere to put my head down anymore. But I know my watch is on my wrist, that I do know. For the journey. She says, It's sunny outside. And we have to go while it's sunny. We have to take that chance. 'Cause it never lasts long when the weather's this good, does it? The sad truth is, John and I and the kids only took Route 66 once on our trips to Disneyland. Our family, like the rest of America, succumbed to the lure of faster highways, more direct routes, higher speed limits. We forgot about taking the slow way. It makes you wonder if something inside us knows that our lives are going to pass faster than we could ever realize.
