2025柏林电影节前线日记D8｜之前话说重了，柏林还是需要洪常秀

流水的柏林总监，铁打的洪常秀，今年他又带着新作《大自然对你说了什么》重返主竞赛单元。尽管此前金敏喜挺着孕肚陪洪前往柏林的新闻压倒性地盖过了大家对这部影片的期待，而有意思的是，这部新片完全没有金敏喜的出演，在我看来却是近年来洪常秀的作者本我最为外放显化的一次。
我曾在前瞻里说，每年看到洪常秀在柏林主竞赛大搞自我重复真的已经够够的了。而新片中他向我们展示的，有7个松散的章节，有对懒散简洁的摄制手段的自嘲，更重要的，是一个窝囊大男孩的纠结和爆发。
洪常秀用新片告诉我们，不光卡洛需要他，柏林主竞赛也需要他。

Hong sang-soo is back in Competition this year with his new film, What does the Nature Says to You. While the news of Kim Min-hee's pregnant belly accompanying Hong to Berlin overwhelmingly overshadowed the anticipation for the film, it's interesting to note that this new film, which doesn't feature Kim Min-hee at all, is, in my opinion, one of the most outwardly explicit manifestations of Hong's authorial self in recent years.
I've said in my forward-looking columns that I've seen enough of Hong's self-repeat every year in Berlinale's Competition, and in this new movie he shows us that he's the most outward-looking authorial ego in recent years. What he shows us in this new film are seven loose chapters, a self-deprecating look at the lazy simplicity of filmmaking, and, more importantly, the tangles and outbursts of a big, pimply boy.
With his new movie, Hong Chang-soo tells us that not only does Carlos need him, but so does Berlinale's competition.
