Why you shouldn't be a one-upper :
one-upper: a person who is tries to outdue or
overshadow others by having a better story or batter experience or better achievement come up in casual conversation usually pretty subtly the attention back to themselves
being a one- upper :
Ex: you think that's scary one time…
1.comparing experiences
Ex: that's nothing you should have seen what i did(launched to the story outdue them)
Ex:i had it way worse (way better)
it's not good one-uppen you and undermine your story hurts connection (always in competition ）
2.subtle bagging
Ex: not to brag but…
Ex: i didn't even study and still got the top score ahh that's annoying
Ex: everyone always comes to me for help
3.stutus boosting
Ex: i actually know the owner
Ex:i read that book twice actually
