1.it's like pulling teeth
:basically this means that something is very difficult to do
ex:
.Trying to get my kids to tell me about their day is like pulling teeth.
.getting my band mates to practice every day is like pulling teeth .
.finding the right holiday gifts for my friends is like pulling teeth .
2.it's like hurting cats
ex:
.in my life exactly trying to get my kids out the door in the morning is like hurting cats.
3.a hard not to crack

ex:
.I wanna know what's going on in his head but he's a hard not to crack .

A:how's your class going ?
B:that's good. but trying to get them to leave for music classes like hurting cats .
A:tell me about it .they're so cute . but sometimes getting them to answer questions is like pulling teeth.
B: definitely . it can be really tough.
A:especially one boy in my class he is a hard not to crack .I'm not sure if he likes school.
B: that's too bad .I feel like you're getting nowhere fast but we're still at the beginning.
A:that's true.
