本期内容：
有一个疑问一直在我心里挥之不去，没能被解答，这个问题是，到底是为什么，一些从小在西方国家出生，在那里长大，就连阿拉伯语都说不标准的伊斯兰少年，会宁愿放弃自己的生命，也要为了自己从来没有回去过的祖国发起所谓的圣战。在911事件发生后，美国发动了反恐战争，这在客观上这直接创造了新的激进土壤，在阿富汗和伊拉克战争期间，美国军队炸毁当地楼房，妇女和儿童被炸死的残忍视频和图片都被极端组织包装成了宣传素材，制作成一盒盒录像带，传播到了世界各地。在欧洲、美洲大陆都发生了很多起本土化伊斯兰极端主义恐怖袭击事件。其中，就包括我们今天要讲的这起事件，2005年在英国伦敦发生的七七事件。
我们将从这起事件讲起，通过三期节目，回到二十年前的世界，去理解当时弥漫的恐怖主义氛围。在这一背景下，我们尝试从极端分子的视角，通过另一起发生在加拿大多伦多的案件，我们试图去了解为何他们会选择发动袭击——他们如何被一步步推向暴力，经历了怎样的准备过程，又在心理上完成了怎样的转变。最后，我们也会把目光放在事件之后，讲述当事人在被捕之后，如何面对后果，以及是否存在通向救赎的可能。
