Starting August 5, Shanghai began trial operations of driverless taxis where the main seat is unmanned and passengers sit in the back.

8月5日起，上海正式试运营主驾无人、乘客可后排就座的无人驾驶出租车。

The initial fleet is operating in Jinqiao and Huamu areas of Pudong, with plans to expand citywide.

首批投入车辆主要运行于浦东金桥、花木区域，未来将逐步扩展至全区。

Eight companies including Pony.ai and Baidu received licenses to operate, and passengers can order rides via an app.

小马智行、百度等8家企业获得运营许可，市民可通过App叫车。

Once seated, users simply tap a screen in the car to start the journey.

乘客就座后，只需点击车内屏幕即可发车。

The starting fare is 14 yuan for 3 kilometers, with 2.7 yuan per additional kilometer.

起步价为14元，包含3公里，超出部分每公里2.7元计费。
