Order in the court! legal terms for everyday connection: 1.accuse: to say someone has done sth bad, this can be both in or out of the court room or legal situation,or committing a crime not formal way accuse sb just on a guess,accusation always being thrown Ex:i could accuse you of being late Ex:he accused me for being rude to his father Ex:the lawyer accused the suspect tampering with the evidence 2.alleged: someone committed some sort of crime, there's no official evidence yet, innocent until proven guilty Ex:allegedly, he stoled 4 diamond necklaces Role play: A:They are getting a divorce B:allegedly, I'm not sure it 2.in dict :when dealing with the court, we don't use it every day conversation use it court room proceedings getting official 3.charge : going towards criminal case Ex:this morning he was officially charged with embezzling fans from his company Ex:there no grounds to charge him this time, we need more evidence 4.convict :you are charged being formally accused before you are convicted on guilty verdict of jury or a decision of a judge that declaring sb is guilty Ex:the jury decided to convict the executive of fraud after reviewing financial records Role play: A:when Faster was accused of the crime most said they didn't believe he did it B:legat criminal had no criminal history but now he has been indicted and as being charged with heading a massive ponzi scheme, more to come A:i think he might be convicted!
