AEE 2332: Do You Say I Don't Know Too Much? why American state an opinion and then say i don't know ? how can you don't know what you just said ? why you say i don't know: 1. you just propose something but you're not sure everyone wants to do that. 2. showing you're flexible, you can change your opinion, we don't have to do that . 3. shows you're not confident . 4. a lack of comfort with silence . sometimes people will use this if they're silence, they're afraid of saying their opinion. eg, the white would definitly look best, or the pink, i don't know. i love that Mexican restaurant, i don't know, it's whatever you want. ( frustrating and annoying ) i think there's a sall ... , i don't know. ( genuine being unsure about something) she took me she would be there at 8, but i don't know.
