最近刚过去的十一国庆加中秋节，朋友圈是不是被旅游照、月饼照、还有各种朋友家人聚会的合照刷屏了？这我想到一个在国外生活超级高频会被问到的问题：
"What did you do over the weekend?"
或是假期后会听到的 "How was your break?""What did you do over the holidays?"
这个问题在美国或其他西方国家真的是破冰标配，同学、同事、甚至陌生人都会用它来开场。可是很多人回答的时候，常常只会说一句：
� "Nothing much."
� "Same old, same old."
然后对话就结束了… 尴尬！�
今天我们就来聊聊：这个问题到底该怎么回答，怎么样把它变成一个有趣的 small talk，甚至用它拉近和外国朋友的距离。

� 对方并不是想知道你“具体做了什么”，

不要只说 “Nothing much.”
加一点小细节会更自然！
“It was pretty relaxing. I just stayed home and caught up on some shows.”
（挺放松的，就在家追了点剧。）
“I had a nice break, thanks. Spent some time with family.”
（假期挺好的，谢谢，跟家人待在一起。）
“Nothing too exciting, just went out for a hike.”
（没什么特别的，就去爬了个山。）

加一个细节——哪怕只是看了部电影、吃了顿好吃的，都能让话题继续。

可以引出：节日文化、食物、家庭等话题。

改成这样更自然：
“Nothing too exciting, just did some grocery shopping and cooked a new dish.”（没什么特别的，就去买了菜，还试做了一道新菜。）
“Pretty much the usual, but I finally cleaned my apartment — that felt like an achievement.”（差不多老样子，不过我终于打扫了房间，感觉超有成就感。）

回答完可以补一句�
