Lyrically in the song, there’s a reference to the brilliant minds from ACT UP, a HIV and AIDS activist group formed in the 80s who’s motto was “silence equals death.

Alita fights for the lives of marginalized people, and this reference reflects our fight as a society towards injustice.

While in the film Alita is literally on a journey to discover who she is, her story serves as a really powerful allegory (/'æləɡɔri/寓言) for any girl who doesn't yet know her own power.
