Now, for more than 75 years, the 40-hour workweek and the overtime protections that come with it, have help countless workers climb the ladder of success...We’re gonna update those overtime rules to restore that basic principle that if you have to work more, you should be able to earn more.

"If you work more than 40 hours a week, you should get paid for it or get extra time off to spend with your family and loved ones," President Barack Obama said in a statement.
