Dear Library Manager,
I am writing this letter in response to the ad posted on the main office building’s bulletin board for the coming summer break’s position in the library.

This summer job greatly interests me as I am, firstly, a lover of books and as such, I am quite familiar with our school’s library in terms of how the books are arranged and organized. Secondly, I previously worked in an automotive parts supplier two years ago, and though it is in a completely different field than the world of books, the job required me to be methodical in record keeping, being able to organize, and in quickly adapting to the layout of the facility, job characteristics that I imagine would be helpful in maintaining a successfully functioning library.

I am polite, hardworking, and able to work independently. Additionally, as I live close to the school, this job would be ideal for me as I enjoy very much the library’s atmosphere, and the position would also allow me to help care for the contents of this very important resource for the overall operation of the school.
