Opening Remarks: (0:10”)
Today is Thursday, August 4th. Thank you for listening to my program.
I have been having trouble to understand the globe economy lately, the U.S. stock market in particular. As we talked about in the last episode, even the big tech is suffering from many economic challenges, yet the stock market had its best July on record. All indices have rebounded quite significantly. Are things really that good? So in today’s episode, let’s talk about lay offs among some leading U.S companies. Nearly all of them took place in recent months.
But as usual, let’s begin the program with a trivia question. We know many India is the outsource center for many tech jobs from the West because English is one of its official languages. Even though many Indians with lower social economic standing may not be able to speak English, affluent Indians do speak English very well. So, today’s question is, ‘When did English become the official language of India?’
