The best 3-step strategy for socializing in English :
1.opening your brian bugs
Mentally preparing (rehearing) for this event specific questions in there (where will i be? What do i know? about situation,about people,what people will talk about in this situation?who i have a chance to talk to there?)
2.you are going to decide who are you going to start the conversation (alleviate the awkwardness by knowing about details,write down how the conservation might go)
Ex:
A: Hey! Jenifer, how's it going?
A: I remember you told me you you liked to ski how long you have been sking? (Jenifer will feel cared from you by remembering this,you are asking about her interest)
3.when you start the conversation be a active listener (when you ask them question listen to the answer, respect the person you are talking to)

Follow up questions are there what the other person is saying
