How to dance around Tricky past principles?
have you drunk a lot of water (avoid this, don't hear often)
native speakers likely to use Present perfect continues when they asking questions
Have you been drinking a lot of water?
(avoid past principles drunk)
if exact time doesn't matter sometimes when we have options we can stick to continuous tense
Are you staying hydrated?
have you had a a lot of water today?
1.swap present perfect tense with present perfect continuous tense instead to have past principles you can use been and verb+ing way easier
Instead of i haven't drunk enough water today
use it i haven't been drinking enough water today
Ex: i have ran a lot this week
If we change it we use continuous form
I've been running a lot lately
go and gone
Go is a verb went is past tense past principle is gone
Ex: I've gone to grocery store so often this week
I've been going to the grocery store so often this week
repeated action we can swap with present perfect continuous tense
2.swap present perfect with present continuous
Ex:I've gone to the movies a lot this month
Ex:I've been going to the movies a lot this month
Ex: are you drinking a lot today?
Ex:are you running a lot these days?(instead of have you run a lot lately?)
