Actually, yes, I do. I have a profound affection for handwriting. I feel like the act of grasping a pen and jotting down notes in a notebook is an emotionally satisfying experience for me, especially if I'm writing down things I think are important, such as ideas, facts or about my experiences. I kinda feel like it's a type of meditation actually, which I think is similar with the art form of Chinese calligraphy.

In fact, I think my passion for handwriting was nurtured during my childhood when I dedicated two years to practicing Chinese calligraphy daily. It wasn't just a routine because the experience taught me the beauty of Chinese character strokes, the rhythm of writing, and the patience required to perfect each character. So even today, whenever I hold a pen, I have a reflexive emotion connected to holding a pen and writing down my thoughts.

Sure, yes, I think so. In fact, I'd say the ability to handwrite is of utmost importance. Before the ubiquitous use of computers, handwritten documents were the primary means of record-keeping, but even today, a person who can write legibly and who has beautiful penmanship is impressive and I think is still held to be an admirable trait.

Actually, I'd say it depends as it's contextual. For example, when it comes to activities like reading a book and taking notes, I definitely will write down my thoughts by hand, and I feel there's something immersive about scribbling my thoughts in the margins of a book.

But if I need to write an essay or article, then I prefer typing, no doubt, as it's easy to delete, edit, copy, paste, re-arrange, and ultimately, allows me to craft my articles. Also, my speed and efficiency in typing is much greater than my writing.

I think the disparities between handwriting and typing are multi-faceted, but at a fundamental level, I think handwriting is more organic and tactile as it involves the physical movement of my hand, the pressure exerted on the pen, and the flow of ink on paper, giving me a tangible sense of creation.

In contrast, typing is a mechanical action of pressing keys on a keyboard. So, I guess that's the number one difference, a physical difference.

Additionally, handwriting is unique as it seems to be influenced by personality, mood, and writing habits. It can convey a sense of individuality and emotion, whereas typing is a little less impersonal in that way. But as I mentioned before, I think typing, providing you're good at it, is much more efficient and negates the difficulty for others to have to decipher one's handwriting.
