Abstract
Chemistry, as the science of matter, inherently "governs" the world, given that all entities are composed of it. Consequently, music, an integral part of this world, is also subtly "ruled" by chemistry. This paper delves into the profound impact of chemical concepts on the psychological facets of music creation, examining 16 emblematic musical pieces inspired by chemistry. It dissects how these scientific ideas shape both the creative process of music composition and the listener's experience. The analysis bifurcates into two main strands: firstly, exploring chemistry as a holistic ideology influencing artistic expression; and secondly, scrutinizing specific chemical concepts through the traditional triad of chemical disciplines—organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry. Each branch offers unique insights into how chemistry intertwines with music. By evidencing how chemistry inspires and directs musical creativity, this study aims to illuminate the ubiquitous reign of chemical
principles over artistic realms. It further seeks to enhance public comprehension and affinity for chemical concepts, while furnishing a theoretical framework for musicians and enthusiasts who draw inspiration from the chemical cosmos. Ultimately, this research underscores the pervasive influence of chemistry, not just in the tangible world but also within the ethereal domains of music and art.
