🌈4ways to express you avoid saying something directly
1️⃣dance around
🗒lighter, more informal than verb "avoid"(avoid, it is so serious)
👏👏👏usually about conversation, is not as much as about life choices or decisions we make.
Ex: He was dancing around a bit and then he finally asked me out.
Ex: I can tell you dance around something, and spit it out.
📕rare way, less common
Ex: They have been dancing around the merger. We think it will happen this year.
2️⃣around the bush(fun idiom, have the same meaning, only for conversation)
Ex: She was beating around the bush a while, before she asked me what happened.
Ex: I try not to be around the bush, but some questions are tough to ask out right.
3️⃣sidestep(avoid dealing with something or discussing something, really awkward, disagreeable problem )
Ex: I was able to sidestep the discussion with my mom, but I know I have it eventually.
Ex: He totally sidesteped my effort to talk to him by changing the subject.
4️⃣dodge(avoid, both used physically and as far as conversation )
Ex: She dodged my attempt to discuss her misbehavior.
Ex: I was supposed to be my sister last week, but we were fighting, so I dodged her.
