Can't always trust pattern in English. Suffix like "ion" can't be added to evey verb, and u can't remove it from every noun except that it could be that correct verb. The best way to learn words with suffixes is not to memorise rules or memories the lists, but to take in a lot of English.
Suffixes which are at the end of words. Prefix comes the beginning of words, like: "pre、un、non".
1. can't always drop "ion"
conversation
✓: coverse ✗: conversate
electrification
✓: electrify ✗: electrificate
2. always can add "ion" to create their noun forms.
Ex: locate, location; creat, creation;
3. can't follow the pattern
incline(slope, it itself is a verb also a noun as well)
inclination(the tendency to act or feel a certain way ) disposition/ propensity
Ex: I have no inclination to work today.
convict( to declare sb is guilty or crime)
convict( a person found guilty or crime)
conviction
1. formal declaration that sb is guilty or crime.
2. a firm beliefs or opinions
Role play:
A: This is quite the incline. It's hard to pull the wagon in the sand(不确定拼写)
B: I need to have a conversation with my kids about staying close.
A: Their inclination is to wonder pretty far.
B: She is absolutely electrified every time she sees one.
